Yoka System

What is the Yoka System?
The Yoka System is a unique bodywork practice that integrates breath, movement, and awareness, grounded in the body's natural structure. Drawing inspiration from yoga, physiotherapy, breathwork, and Eastern wisdom, it offers a holistic approach that encompasses not just the body but also the mind and spirit. At its core, Yoka aims to help individuals align with their true nature—achieving a rhythm of life that resonates with their innate essence.
Developed by Kazım Gürbüz, known as Yogi Kazım, the Yoka System is the culmination of his profound exploration of the body since the 1960s. Following a severe accident, he reconnected with his body in a transformative way, leading to the creation of this system that has since brought healing to thousands.
Yoka goes beyond targeting muscles or flexibility. Each movement centers on the spine, engaging the entire nervous system. This comprehensive approach fosters not only physical well-being but also mental clarity and emotional balance.Practices involve guided breathing and conscious, controlled movements, enabling individuals to gain a deeper understanding of themselves.
Components of the Yoka System
YOKA SERIES
The foundation of the system, the Yoka Series, comprises approximately 50 movements performed in a consistent sequence. These exercises engage nearly all joints, muscles, and connective tissues. With thousands of variations developed, the series is accessible to individuals of all ages and fitness levels.
YOKA THERAPY
Yoka Therapy offers adapted sequences from the Yoka Series tailored to address specific health concerns. It is particularly beneficial for musculoskeletal issues and also supports cardiovascular health and concentration. Conditions such as postural disorders, scoliosis, ankylosing spondylitis, kyphosis, and herniated discs can be effectively managed through this approach.
Who is Yogi Kazım?
Yogi Kazım Gürbüz is one of Turkey's pioneering yoga practitioners and the founder of the Yoka System. Throughout his life, he has delved into the limits of physical, mental, and spiritual potential, transforming his profound experiences into a system that has inspired countless individuals.

In 1961, after a severe car accident, doctors declared he would never walk again. Defying this prognosis, Yogi Kazım embarked on an intensive journey of self-healing, integrating breath, movement, and mental techniques to restore his health. The Yoka System emerged from this personal transformation and over six decades of dedicated practice.
The Yoka System embodies his life's essence—each movement and breath reflecting his inner journey.
Yoka Modules

Module 1
How? This module lasts for 5 full days and teaches how each movement in the Yoka Series should be applied safely and correctly. The special Yoka Breathing Technique is taught. Anatomy lessons focus on the musculoskeletal system. The fundamental bones and muscle groups in our bodies are explained in a highly understandable manner. Every morning, a different variation of the entire series is practiced.
Module 2

Why? This module also lasts for 5 full days and explains why each movement in the Yoka Series should be performed. It covers which joints the movements work on, which muscles are strengthened, which muscles are stretched, and their effects on connective tissue. In this module, the anatomical details of each movement are explored, and each movement is examined individually. In addition, specific high-impact movements that require more careful application are demonstrated.

Module 3
Module 3 lasts for 5 full days and focuses on how to teach the Yoka Series to others, using the knowledge gained in Modules 1 and 2. During this training, participants practice teaching the series movements one-on-one. The instructor demonstrates each movement in detail and provides explanations. Then, participants are asked to teach these movements to volunteer students. During this process, the instructor observes the participants’ teaching skills and makes corrections when necessary. This module covers not only the physical transmission of the movements but also teaching techniques. Topics such as approaching different learning styles, using tone of voice and body language, lesson planning and preparation, and establishing effective communication with students are addressed.
This module offers a teaching and transformative experience for those who want to not only practice but also pass on the Yoka Series to others.
