Vinyasa Yoga: Prana Flow Workshop

"Breathe, Flow, Focus"

Vinyasa Yoga symbolizes a dynamic and fluid style of yoga where postures are linked together through breath. This method is based on the flows used by Krishnamacharya, considered the father of modern yoga, during his later years. Vinyasa Yoga works on both body and mind by creating a deep connection and enhancing the experience of each asana.

Workshop Content:

Our Vinyasa-Prana Flow workshop focuses on synchronizing breath with yoga asanas to enhance the connection between body and mind, while also increasing mental focus. In this workshop, we will learn how to open the energy pathways in the body and balance the prana flow through yoga asanas, while enhancing the ability to concentrate the mind.

Philosophy of Vinyasa Yoga & Prana:

Prana is the life force energy that sustains us. Through yoga postures, our goal is to open the energy channels in the body and balance the flow of prana. In Vinyasa practice, there is constant movement, and especially beginners need to focus completely on following the flow. This deep focus helps them disengage from distractions and stay in the present moment, allowing the mind to settle on the body and breath.

Many students express that after Vinyasa sessions, they lose track of time and feel completely disconnected from any lingering thoughts. When the mind is not focused, it can take us away from the present moment, leading us to dwell on the past or future. Vinyasa is an excellent concentration practice that helps bring the mind into the present moment.

Our Goal

In this workshop, we aim to guide the mind to stay focused on the body and breath, while strengthening both the body and breath, and calming the mind. You will experience the flow of prana while learning to stay in flow between different asanas, both individually and in small series.

Deepening Practice in Vinyasa:

Different techniques are used in Vinyasa flows. Sometimes you can catch the flow within a single asana, while other times, you will move between several asanas to create a flowing experience. Throughout the day, you will experience the prana flow in various asanas, and also learn to stay in flow while transitioning between different poses.

Vinyasa vs. Hatha Yoga

The traditional practice of Hatha Yoga involves holding postures for extended periods, working on alignment, and experiencing the effects of the pose on the body. However, this can sometimes be a more intense and exhausting approach. Therefore, Vinyasa Yoga is especially suitable for beginners or for those looking for a lighter practice. Vinyasa provides a great opportunity to focus and practice without strain, and it’s an enjoyable practice set to music that helps release the stress of the day.

Voices of Transformation

Hear from Our Yoga Graduates: Their Journey, Their Stories, Their Growth

"I have reached the end of the most meaningful and right action (Satya) I have ever taken for myself in my 33 years of life... 9 (plus 1) full weeks?! What I thought would never end has now flown by, and I’m in disbelief that it’s over. I find myself crying because it’s finished."

Burcu Atalay

"As I reach the end of the 200-hour, 9-week Yoga Specialization Program, my feelings are so mixed and complex… Who would have thought I’d spend every Saturday-Sunday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM engrossed in yoga? Maya Yoga, the place where I immersed myself for 9 whole weeks, is now not just a studio but my home, my family."

Sema Gizem Rose

"Everyone has a story, right? I have mine, too—like the invisible truth hidden behind the visible. This story captivated me, and it’s a tale that can only be understood if I lift the curtain of language. It is the story of how I found yoga and began my journey."
